Jennifer and I just spent the last two days at our District Rotary Conference, hearing some remarkable stories and meeting a lot of great people. One of the key speakers was 'Nobody' or in other words John Eales the champion Rugby player, who's nickname "Nobody" comes from the saying "Nobody's perfect" in reference to John's reputation as the perfect Rugby player.

Mother of Civilization Library

In early December we had a request from a voluntary organization which sets up work in Indus Valley Sindh, the southern part of Pakistan, who have a project to help and facilitate a libraries program in Sindh, with the name of “Mother of Civilization Library”.

Just reading Sir Ken Robinson's book, "The Element - How finding your passion changes everything". (The element is the point at which natural talent meets personal passion)

A great read, very insighful and lots of stories of how very famous people found thier element.

I particularly liked the story of how Mind Maps helped unlock our natural intelligences to remember vast amounts of information. Here is an extract in the chapter of In the Zone [pages 96-97]...

We are entering into a new age - not just because of we are nearing the end of 2009, but because this is the age of intelligence.

Nations and corporations can no longer rely on existing methods to solve today's global issues. As a nation, we need to build new strategies for our workers to compete on the global stage. The call for better, faster and cheaper economy comes at an opportune time when the world has just recovered from a major economic shake-up.
